| Johnny Cash "Hollywood On the Mississippi River" (2004) (UNOFFICIAL "San Quentin") 16mm | 3:00 |
Synopsis: I was on summer vacation when this project erupted from a can of free film. With respect for my hometown, and a limited amount of raw stock, I chose each shot deliberately. However, unforeseen, the opening shot of the film caused my associate and attorney, Richard, along with myself, to be added to a Homeland Security watch list. Scolding us for taking photos near a bridge, the Arkansas police sergeant then took our pictures for the FBI. Screenings/Awards: - Indie Memphis Film Festival (Memphis, TN), 2005 *Kodak Tennessee Filmmaker's Award Producer/Writer/Director/Cinematographer/Editor: Geoffrey Brent Shrewsbury
| Lost Sounds "Memphis Is Dead" (2001) DV | 3:00 |
Synopsis: I was formerly a member of the Jumbotron production team at The Pyramid Arena. Originally crewed by Memphis' own J.M.M., I worked alongside Alicja and Rich, two members of The Lost Sounds, broadcasting in-house shows to scattered and mildly enthusiastic attendees of such events as college basketball games, monster truck shows, and high school graduations. One day I asked Alicja if The Lost Sounds would like to do a music video. They chose the song and we went from there. Screenings: - Indie Memphis Film Festival (Memphis, TN), 2004 - Berlin Short Film Festival (Berlin, Germany), 2004 - Hollywood Underground Film Festival (Hollywood, CA), 2002 Producer/Writer/Director/Cinematographer/Editor: Geoffrey Brent Shrewsbury Band Info: http://www.lostsounds.net/ |
